Advice from a senior who still doesn't know her right from left.
We LOVE awkward first day of school pictures.
Dear incoming freshman/sophomore.
You did it, you are at the ninth or tenth year of your education, you can do a few years more. I believe in you. You're going to be going to a huge new school, yes you will get lost, yes you might have anxiety, but yes you WILL get used to it. Don't worry. Know these years ahead of you are going to be a real challenge and you might fall off the right track a few times, you might loose a few friends, you will find new ones though. Your style might change, you may start liking new things. But that is okay, it is scary, but it is okay. High school is four years, if change doesn't happen, then what is the point? Join clubs, but be smart and be safe. You want these four years to last, it will be over before you know it. You might hate high school, you might love it, it will be one heck of an experience anyway you go.
Dear incoming Juniors
if i am being 101% honest, junior year was my absolute worst. I fell behind majorly and I stopped caring a lot, like a lot. Junior year is actually one of the most important years for you when it comes to schooling. (At least for Utah kids) You cannot give up this year no matter how much you are going to want to give up. You HAVE to study for that ACT and you HAVE to not procrastinate your work. Junior year may seem like hell, but it will be over before you know it. If you study and stay on top of it, you should have nothing to worry about. But seriously, study for the ACT. It brought me down majorly. and now I am retaking it again as a senior. So trust me don't slack. ALSO, last piece of advice, GET YOUR LICENSE. Don't be that senior that is asking for rides constantly because you don't have a permit, let alone a license.
Dear Incoming Seniors
"Well, here we are first day of senior year! I look around at these kids I've known all my life, and I ask myself, what happened??" - Veronica Swayer. It is our last year of this 12 year education. And I am so ready to be done, although I don't have much advice because I am a senior myself, I am just going to tell you the same thing I am telling myself; ONE MORE YEAR, we CAN do this. We CAN tolerate this. And we will enjoy it. It is our last year, show school spirit and be the happiest you can be.
Overall, high school babes, you got this. It seems scary, but it will pass, I promise. Thank you for reading!!
