How I started blogging and teaming up with companies.
Okay, this was SUCH a requested blog post. So lets get this started. I am just going to throw it back to when I started my blog.
It was in October when I finally started building my website. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, I only knew one thing; I love writing. I started to become bored of just sitting in my room and typing things up in my room where no one would see it. So finally I decided to look into blogging. IT TOOK ME ABOUT A MONTH TILL MY FIRST BLOG POST. Everyone NEEDS to know that building your website takes some time. Whether it is a few days, weeks or months, it is NOT an overnight thing. Especially if you want the public reading your posts. So about after a month of getting some decent pictures of myself and coming up with a catchy name and some stories, oceanside daisies was born! Also, I have gotten asked "How did you come up with the name?" Well, I combined two things I loved. And my best friend came up with the catchy title. It took a really long time to come up that. So, oceanside daisies was born and published. All I had to do was have people read it. This was a struggle because I was SO scared what people would think of me and my writings. "What if they make fun of me?" "What if no one reads it?" And trust me, I got plenty of nasty comments a few times in the past, but as soon as I pushed publish and posted about it, people read it. And they actually liked it. My confidence bursts through the roof when someone says "I read your blog post!" "I like your blog" or anything like that. So, it took me about a month to build the confidence, but when I finally published and posted my blog, I fell in love. If you are debating if you want to do something you love, do it. Don't worry about what others say or think. That is a really cheesy quote but it is SO true. I started out with 50 views a blog post and now I get about 500 views. It takes time but it is worth it. But as my growth from my blog shined on my Instagram as well, that is when I started doing something else really cool.
Honestly, I am not even sure how I started teaming up with companies. It was about a month after I started blogging and I was looking up ways to grow my blog. A website suggested I do social media influencing. I wasn't sure how that was going to help my blog at first but I decided to give it a try. Here are a few pictures from my first collaborations;
The top left, I am modeling a thread wallet, the next photo is a local singer named Sierra Lauren's merchandise and the bottom photo is from a local photographer, Hailiee Emma. The wallet, the merchandise, and the photoshoot was all free. And each time I posted about them, my followers on Instagram and my blog increased. How did I team up with them?? Well, I asked them. I direct message each company, and I ask them to collaborate. I ask for either free products or discounted products. I then tell them what they will receive in return, new followers, a loyal customer, and new customers. Each time I post about a company, they get followers from me or a customer. At first it was just a side thing, but now I do it on a weekly. It is SO much fun teaming up with companies and making new friends and supporting locals. I usually reach out to small/local companies. They are much easier to reach out to rather than chain companies. And they are a lot kinder, that may sound rude but it is true. Now since I started this, I get products in my mail almost every week. Here are some collaboration pictures from recently;
Clothing, jewelry, sunglasses, stickers, so many cool products. Blogging, taking pictures, reviewing, meeting new people, and going to new places, is just so much fun. I am so grateful for the opportunities I get everyday. And honestly, It wouldn't be possible without you guys that read and like my posts. Thank you all so much, and I hope this helps my future writers and my future influencers! I hope that I am help with my small experience. Thank you for reading you lovely people!!
