Hey guys! I hope you are all having an amazing week. As most of you know, I am a Salt Lake City local. I go down to the city every chance I get. My favorite thing to down in the city is discover new coffee shops, local stores, thrift shops. I am a HUGE supporter of local. Today I want to write all about my favorite local places to go in Salt Lake City. So enjoy! Oh, and by the way, most of these photos are done by @/teyannakaibentoney. So huge shoutout to her photography skills.
Icono Clad is my FAVORITE thrift shop. Ever. They are located right in Salt lake. One day when my friend and I were looking for some clothing shops, I typed in "Vintage Clothing" in Google maps. Icono Clad popped up. I walked in and fell right in love. I don't know if it's the cat they have when you first walk in, the creative clothing, the stickers they give you when you purchase something, or just the happy vibe you get when you are in the store. Icono Clad is the love of my life. In fact that is where I got my overall's in the first picture. I highly suggest stopping there when you are in the city.
KEN SANDERS RARE BOOKS.
Book lovers, vintage lovers, I found a place for you! Ken Sanders Rare Books is practically a dream. When you walk in, there are books everywhere. New books, older books, and of course rare books! They also have maps, DVD'S and classic books. They are located in downtown Salt Lake, just like every store here! Go there, pick out a book, and sit on one of their couches and get lost in the book. Another instant love.
THREE PINES COFFEE.
My best friend and I just typed in coffee shops and walked right over to Three Pines Coffee, and we were in awe the entire time. It is the cutest little coffee shop, located right outside City Creek. It has amazing hot cocoa and baked goods. Warning; you will fall in love with how cute this coffee shop is. It was one of my first local shop favorites!
Shout-out to my number one fan Rose here: she introduced my best friend to Vantage. She then introduced it to me (a beautiful cycle). Anyway, this place is the place to go for beautiful, vintage, rare fashion. They always have the coolest stuff for half the price. They also have really cute accessories, such as sun glasses.
SALT LAKE CITY LIBRARY ROOF.
Want a great place to see the whole city? The Salt Lake City Library has public roof access. You will have to climb some stairs, but it's worth it. I promise!
I just discovered this place. Paradise Palm is an indoor garden! Walk in and find yourself instantly surrounded by several trees, cactus, baby air plants and SO much more. If you are thinking about taking on some additional responsibility, consider adopting a plant. Paradise Palm is so much fun. Also when I walked in a lot of my stress was released. I don't know if it's just being surrounded by beautiful plants or something else, but it is truly magical.
Well, now you all have an idea as to why I love my city so much. These shops give me endless smiles and fill my head with so many ideas. Go out to the city, buy yourself a thrift-ed shirt, a hot coco, and stop in for a rare-book-read with your mini cactus! Support local and have the best time while doing it. Enjoy my daisies. And thank you for reading!
