SOMEONE GAVE YOU A MOUTH. USE IT.
I know that at one point in your life, you have been told to be quiet. Especially when we were younger as children. Or other peers would tell us to be silent. Have you ever thought about what the world would be like if we weren't silent? And we spoke up for the good and the bad. What would you be like as a person if you stood up and said something? You never know if someone needs to hear what is running through your mind.
I know that we are all shy sometimes and sometimes don't say things because we are scared of the outcome. Well, what would have happened if one of the Larry Nasser (child molester from Michigan State) victims broke the silence before he could reach more girls? What if one of the victims never broke the silence. Yes, at times being quiet is lovely. But we should never be silent.
"Oh the places you'll go"- Dr. Suess
Have you ever imagined where you could go with your words, your perspective, and your voice? You could be the worlds greatest leader. You could be president. Or you could just make someones day. Yes sometimes our words can lead us to failure but where would we be without our failure? Failure is a part of learning. It was a mistake, you have learned, you move on.
I challenge you to break the silence this week. If you see something that is not okay, say something. If you see something that was amazing, praise it. We are living in the scariest days where people are getting away with such cruel things. So use your voice to stop it. Break the silence and use your voice for the good.
Do not give up on this. I believe in you, have an amazing week.
