An artsy post to help you.
Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog. And thank you so much for clicking on my post, it means a lot. So before I get into this post, here is a small little disclaimer
I talk about self harm and things like that, if any of that triggers you in anyway, please feel free to click out of this blog post.
Recently; I have started something different. And that is taking a paintbrush and painting all over my skin. Of course, I use the non-toxic brands so I don't harm myself. When I first started, I just saw it on Pinterest and thought it was cool. But after my first try I quickly fell in love.
After a few painting on my skin I realized that this became a little more than just a passing time. It became a distraction. A distraction from all of the little things in life that were stressing me out, I found myself in a complete wonderland as I dragged the paintbrush across my arm with music on in the background. As I started doing it on a daily basis, I realized I replaced the brush with something- scissors.
Yes, I have before in the past self harmed. Say all you want, call me dramatic or whatever you'd like. I found self harming easy to do and a good way to distract me when I was in depressive episodes. It was never anything serious, it was just a few scratches from scissors. But self harm is self harm. So, body art is my new love and distraction.
IF YOU CAN RELATE.
No, I am not just telling you guys a story, I also want to help. If you have ever self harmed, this is for you. I know how you have felt, with feeling lonely and like there is no way out. But believe it or not, there are other ways to get out of that habit. Next time you want to harm yourself, draw something on your skin instead, re-read your favorite book, go on a bike ride. Do anything that you love and that makes you feel the happiest.
